§ 2-6. Meetings of board of mayor and commissioners.

  • (a)

    Meeting dates. The board of mayor and commissioners of the City of Clarksdale shall hold its regular meetings on the second and fourth Mondays of each month, in the main council chambers, first floor, situated in City Hall, 121 Sunflower Avenue, Clarksdale, Mississippi 38613, beginning at 4:00 p.m., commencing on the fourth Monday of March, 2003, being March 24, 2003, and on the second and fourth Mondays of each month thereafter, excepting legal holidays, at which time, any and all business properly coming before the said board of mayor and commissioners may be transacted.

    (b)

    Prior actions validated. All actions, transactions, contracts, stipulations, proceedings and actions of any kind whatsoever heretofore had and done, are hereby ratified, confirmed, approved and adopted, insofar as the date, time and place of the meetings of the said board are concerned, whether at the time of any such meeting the time of the convention thereof was fixed and established by ordinance, resolution or order.

    Amendment note— Ord. No. 609, § 3, repealed Ord. No. 524 of Nov. 14, 1961, Ord. No. 531 of June 18, 1962, and Ord. No. 580 of July 6, 1965, from which § 2-6 was derived. Section 1 of Ord. No. 609 enacted § 2-6 to read as herein set out. Prior to amendment § 2-6 consisted of subsections (a)—(d). Subsection (a) provided for monthly meetings; subsection (b) provided for weekly meetings; subsection (c) provided for monthly meetings in lieu of weekly meetings; and subsection (d) consisted of the provisions now designated as subsection (c). Ord. No. 991 of February 17, 2003, amended subsection (a), establishing meeting dates.
